On the day after my most recent post, last Sunday, I had an active morning and soon discovered that I had been much too active, because I began feeling very weak. I remained completely inactive for a few days and felt I was recovering, but then, on Thursday an enormous package arrived---a replacement for a floor lamp that broke a couple of weeks ago---that at first looked like it would be easy to handle using a dolly, but turned out in the execution to involve unexpected difficulties one after another. In short, I just kind of got lured into some considerable exertion. But I did get the package into the apartment.

So now I am being completely inactive again, sleeping a lot, and hoping to recover again. Getting better. And, I hope, wiser. Determined to say, "Oh, no, that's too hard for an old guy like me!"

But let the headline remain "pain free," which is entirely true.

Plus, my mathematical work continues to go well, and I am nearing the conclusion of "Tom Jones" which has provided much wonderful entertainment.
